Stage 1: Getting the Rough Idea
Do you have a basic idea of a drawing, but aren't exactly sure you want it to look? This is the part where we work together come up with the concept for the design of the drawing. To get started, I'm going to need some information from you:
-
How many characters?
-
Do you have a specific character(s) in mind?
-
Are they established comic book character(s), or are they more unique?
-
Feel free to send me any reference images that might help me narrow in on the design.
-
-
Do you want them set in a full scene, or is it more of a stand-alone piece where the focus is on just the character(s)?
-
What kind of drawing are you looking for?
-
Do you want me to just sketch something for you?
-
Are you just looking for me to refine a sketch or drawing you already have?
-
Or do you want me to do the whole thing from scratch - sketch it, ink it, and color it? (Most people want this option.)

How soon do you need the completed drawing?
Stage 2: The Design
I will send you 2-3 rough thumbnail sketches based on the information provided in Stage 1. At this point, we can work out any specific details of the drawing (such as costume design). Once we have settled on the final design of the drawing, we can progress to Stage 3.
Stage 3: The Proposal
At this stage, I will send you a thumbnail sketch of the final design along with an official price quote for the project, and an estimated timeline to complete the project. If you agree to the terms, I will require a 50% deposit of the total price to move forward to the finished artwork.
Please note, as soon as the deposit has been paid, there will be no further changes to the design of the drawing.
Stage 4: The Finished Art and Shipping
Once the finished artwork has been completed, I will send you a notification email with a digital copy of the drawing. I will also send you a link requesting payment of the remaining 50% of the total project price. As soon as I receive that final payment, I will ship the finished artwork to the address you provide.
And that's it!
I apologize to all my friends around the world, but I am currently only shipping products within the continental United States. If you would like a digital copy of my art, send me a message and I will get back to you shortly.
My way of doing things is to be open and honest about what I do and how I do it. This whole business thing only works if you and I trust each other. That said, I will be making periodic updates to help streamline the commission process, but if you encounter any technical issues, or have any suggestions for improvements, I'd love to hear from you.
